In CabareteBREAKING NEWS: Cabarete will be the scene of the presentation of the International Contest of Sand Castles, which will take place on Sunday March 8 and which will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The activity gathers young talents in sand castles building with the participation of all the registered groups, supports the team work and the introduction to arts, by opening the doors to healthy, expressive and imaginative activities in direct contact with nature and performed in family.
The activity will also include art exhibition, painting, live music, cultural activities and animations which will take place in popular sites.
The event is characterized by its visual characteristic, a tourist activity which stimulates the collective imagination and peace, this being a non profit event.
The first contest was carried out in 1989 in Cabarete and then in Montreal, in Canada, and also took place in France (Azure Coast), for a total of 35 International Contests with the participation of teams of several countries, including students in architecture, fine art and of other professions.

Real estate project in CabareteBREAKING NEWS: The Dominican Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García, announced that local and international investors will dedicate 265 million dollars for the construction of a real estate project and for the opening of an air line in the province of Puerto Plata.
The Palmera real estate project will be built in the tourist enclave of Cabarete, while Air Puerto Plata will operate since the commune of Puerto Plata, according to a note of the Ministry of the local Tourism, which gives an update of the participation of García in the tourist fair of Berlin. The objective is to revive Puerto Plata with this airline company which will fly directly towards Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Venezuela
, the civil servant specified.
The investment in the real and tourist complex will be of 250 million dollars, while the creation of Air Puerto Plata will involve an initial payment of 15 million dollars.
Javier García stressed that the great investment which will be made in the Province of Puerto Plata is the result of the recovery of what in its time, was the principal local tourist pole.

Five minutes away from CabareteBREAKING NEWS : Cabarete.- The first stage of the residential touristic complex Sosúa Ocean Village was inaugurated the past week-end. The project was conceived to be ended within the next 5 years, and its first stage is valued in more than 25 millions dollars.
The main investors and the executives of the project as well as many guests participated to the inauguration ceremony.
The general manager of the Sosúa Ocean Village, the russian Stanislav Goncharon, explained that the total investment of the three stages of this complex with a Mediterranean and Victorian style reaches the 150 millions dollars.
He added that the project, conceived from a cosmopolitan and ecological logic, will have 310 unities for residences and townhouses, a new concept in Dominican Republic.
Among the amenities included in the first stage of the complex, is the restaurant Al Porto, which offers exquisite Italian and International plates, good wines and walking zones.
The general manager of the Sosúa Ocean Village explained that, as part of the first part of the touristic residence, 69 plots of land were for sale, with a total acrage of 88,146 square meters.
The project, that is located one hour away from Santiago, five minutes from Cabarete, ten minutes from the international airport Gregorio Luperón, and twenty minutes away Puerto Plata, offers asphalted roads, a sanitary and pluvial system, an electrical generator, and a 24 hours a day watch.

American marines paint the public schoolBREAKING NEWS : Cabarete.- Members of the USGC Cutter Lagare crew, of the Marina of the United States of America, painted the public school of Cabarete, Puerto Plata, answering this way to the request of the Direction Council of Dream Project
, a non-profit-making organization, directed by Michel Zaleski.
Fourteen marines, directed by the captain of the military boat, Micheal Cribbs, arrived at Cabarete at 10.55pm and were welcomed by Jonathan Wunderlich, Kevin Manning, Ted Foster, Altagracia Frías, Michel Zaleski and many other persons who collaborates with Dram Project.
The association of the American marines received the support of the USA embassy in Dominican Republic, of the Association of Parents and Friends
and of the director of the Puerto Cabarete School, Paulina Pérez.

, said that this institution provided the paint ans the material, whereas the 14 marines of the USGC brought their work in order to realize this project, very important for the Cabarete community.
